The HIPOT test is non destructive test that determines the adequacy of electrical insulation of cable.
During test, high voltage is applied to cable for specific time in order to ensure that cable can withstand such stress during operation.
HIPOT test is helpful in finding damaged insulation, contamination around conductor, terminal spacing problem, inadequate clearance, poor termination or manufacturing defect.
